Retiring after 38 exhilarating years serving God in London’s multi-national All Nations Church, and having been involved in so many ‘goddy’ things around the world was hard. There was a real sense of bereavement; being wrenched apart from brothers and sisters that we had been bonded to in the Holy Spirit was painful. How glad we were to have so many ‘Holding the Ladder’ for us as we had to climb up a new wall in a new place when I was at rock bottom emotionally and physically, having just undergone six months of radical treatment for cancer. If you were one who brought us before the throne of grace, a huge thank you!
God has been good and we feel we are getting linked in again with the purposes of God and ready for whatever He has in mind for us in this next season of our lives, hence a change of gear for http://www.pastorles.com
The new direction for this blog was inspired by our dog Disney recently getting into a chicken run and the sheer pandemonium that followed till I got him out. I realised again just how small brained chickens are, and began to think of how ‘Chicken Run’ theology seems to have infiltrated the minds of so many Christians. It’s so easy to live in the chicken farm,(the church), eating supplied food, pecking each other’s backs and wistfully looking through the fence wondering what it’s like on the other side
And all the time the chicken pie machine clanks away in the corner claiming the chickens one by one… with only a few daring to try to venture beyond the safety of the fence into the big beyond. They were born chickens and will die chicken pies.
This new site will focus on being ‘Eagle Believers’. Of soaring to new heights. Of doing away with small thinking for God. Of Life in God’s Kingdom beyond the chicken run. You can read more about this on the About page here.
I hope you’ll sign up to receive it regularly and come fly with me!
‘He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak. 30 Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the young men will all give up. 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint’. (Isaiah 40 v29-31 Living Bible).
